Having learned to shape light at Studio Daylight and Studio L, Isabelle Schmitt chose to devote this mastery to early childhood. She photographs a newborn with the same rigour as a head of state: complete attention to the person, the light and the expression.
Poupon Star was born of encouragement from the medical profession, struck by her exceptional bond with children and the quality of her images. This ease with people, combined with a speed of execution honed by experience, allows her to capture fleeting expressions without rushing the child, respecting its rhythm.
With Poupon Star, Isabelle Schmitt has photographed more than 25,000 newborns. Eighteen years in the field, notably as exclusive partner of the Les Bluets maternity hospital, have shaped a practice attentive to the child’s rhythm and to families’ trust.
Early childhood is a choice of the heart as much as a photographic discipline: observing without rushing, welcoming spontaneity, working with patience and delicacy.
Today, Isabelle devotes this experience to brands and companies: children’s fashion, advertising campaigns, studio portraits and reportage for maternity wards, hospitals and childcare facilities.
